Celebrate the bounty of fall at our 3rd annual Harvest Fest. Relax riverside with a variety of music. Learn tips and tricks from the pros at any of our workshops. Or bring the kids for a day full of fun activities. Like always, the event is free to all.
Music:
10 a.m.-12 p.m. Mighty Medicine (Blues, rock and soul)
12 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Ingham County Ramblers (Americana)
3 p.m.-5 p.m. Stan Budzynski and 3rd Degree (Blues and Rock)
Animals:
Ingham/Eaton County 4-H Club's wonderful, eclectic collection of animals
Lynette Drendel's beautiful, friendly sheep
MOO-ville Quality Creamery's gentle milk cow
Children's activities:
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Momma and Papa Clown face painting
1 p.m. Pumpkin Carving
2 p.m. Children's Story and Activity hour
3 p.m. Harvesting/putting the garden to rest with a cover crop with John
Workshops: Presentations with Q & A time
10 a.m.-11 a.m. Joyce McGarry, MSU Extension, Food Preservation
11 a.m.-12 p.m. Katie McCarver, MSU Horticulture Trial Garden Manager, discusses getting your garden ready for the fall
12 p.m.-1 p.m. Chef Nick Nicklosovich, Culinary Professor at Lansing Community College and The Art institute of Detroit/Novi, presents a cooking demonstration featuring fresh Market ingredients.
1 p.m.-2 p.m. Rob Nussbaumer, MSU Student Organic Farm, discusses the Backyard Garden Hoop House.
All day: Handprints with Kathleen, free boat rides on the Grand River
Outdoor Farmers Market: Located on the Plaza, with local non-profits, special guests and information tables.
